Better luck selling hubs or wheels?

I've got a set of wheels I'm planning to get rid of but I don't read want to deal with shipping. Campy Victory hubs, Italian thread, mismatched rims. Rear rim functions but has seen better days. They also have NR quick releases.

I am aware that these are not a big ticket item in any sense but would I be foolish to just try and sell the hubs on their own over the internet? I figure a global auction of hubs could have more luck than local sale of old wheels.

Hubs are certainly a lot easier to ship. If the value of the complete wheels isn't much more than the value of the hubs alone, I'd sell just the hubs online and call it a day.

If you do wind up shipping complete wheels, I recommend www.shipbikes.com for competitive rates. Essentially the corporate FedEx account of Lickton's in Oak Park, IL.

You should do the best selling the hubs as matched set with the skewers.

Thanks everyone. Hubs only is what I was leaning towards.

If the rims were the same, clincher (say Mavic MA 40s) and true, and you had the original skewers, I would say sell the wheels via low bid start auction, and let the buyer worry about the shipping.

Mismatched rims...not so much.

Victory hubs are a weird one. Lots of them around and you need the rest of the set to have it make sense as a buyer.
