I was thinking the same thing! But I think slvoid should ride the track bike when they get to Kissena. And Jimbo will need to take the brake off his fixie.
BTW, It's a combined road & track race, one roadbike and one trackbike in 2 man/woman teams from Nyack to Kissena plus the track bike race so if any of you NY roadies want to participate, go get a fixie rider and go nuts!

Yup, basically. Figure on there being some kind of paceline til you hit the city. Then it's probably every team for themeselves.

I think if slvoid and I just mearly show up, we would win without even having to stradle our bikes! Check out the ss/fg thread, post after post it's either, i'll pass, or i watch on the sidelines and grill. Nobody is interested in doing this insane race, especially now being at the end of the season, everyone's burnt out. I however, being a super-cyclist-athlete that I am, i'd do it. If slvoids willing, i just gotta get some track parts to build up my canny, and i'll ride track. Hopefully i'll have everything ready by the race.

i sold that to fund a new road bike to do some end of season road racing at floyd benett field. However i miss fixed gear dearly, and have since picked up a cannondale track frame off ebay. Unfortunetly, I have no parts for it, for that dura ace stuff is expensive, and i find i sacreligious to put anything less on her, so she's bare...for now.
If anything, i could buy a built up canny capo, or "borrow" a capo from my work place for the race.

You're not gonna put full NJS on the track frame are you?

Well built that damn thing up then, I'll be really dissappointed if I miss my weekend plans because you don't have the right bike to be sucking ass the whole way back.
BTW, I figured I can suck a little wheel too on the flat sections since you'll be more efficient with your fixie.

Nice! Jimbo & Slvoid, you guys should team up and suck wheel all the way & burst out at the track! And both of you should ride with the blue balloon.

Hey, if worst comes to worst, and i don't have a track bike one way or another by then, i'll just bring my scott, and just pair up with another fixie rider, and race you and your fixed teammate, considering that you attend. However, im currently watching over cl, maybe i'll come up with some cheap fixie that i'll run at the race, and sell afterwards.

I think I'm going to walk around the corner with a lawn chair to watch these guys shove each other out of the way while carrying their bikes on the stairs of the GWB; I have my doubts about the south walkway opening in the next couple of weeks.

I'd think the real question would be how to get through Queens and whether or not to skip the Bronx.

Well not only a derailuer challenged bike, but a free one at that. Unfortunelty, I have been infected with upgraditis, was too anxious, and just put down a rather heafty deposit on a new sram rival grouppo for my scott, bought a set of krysiums, and gp4000's to go with 'em, thus there really is no room left in my budget for a fixed bike at this point in time. However, i believe if we can somehow shoehorn an 07 schwinn madision into our store by the race, I might get the ability to demo it for the day. However, that being unlikely, i'd imagine im going to end up racing my scott that day
