currently running uncut thomson flat bars on the nature boy. this bike is SO much faster than it was with the drops. and so much more fun. i've been riding around 30+ miles after work everyday for the last few weeks and been pr'ing sections i've ridden many times....even on a geared bike.

Saw a guy on a Harley with ridiculously high ape hangers flapping his arms at a red light. Assume he was trying to bring feeling back into his ams as they were so high he was reaching above his head. Funny but he was driving really erratically almost fell at low speed.

Regarding bullhorn versus pursuit bars; I, too have wondered why would a track racer, road racer or other use-case use one over the other. What are the main reasons for using one over the other? Pursuit bars are lower so maybe better for maintaining an aero position for time trial or timed event type situations?
From an aesthetic perspective I think pursuit bars are prettier and more "classic" or vintage/antique bike looking.

I just wished i liked bullhorn/pursuit bars -- just hate riding with them but i like the way they look

I am the opposite. I love how drops look, but without hoods, and without hoods they are so uncomfortable for me.

1. Dropbars - Several hand positions with road drops; even more when used with brake levers with comfortable hoods. Track drops are comfortable only from the drops for me.
2. Bullhorns - Most I've ridden have been too narrow for my liking.
3. Riser - Riser bars are comfortable and fun. For my commuter, it's what I prefer.
4. Pursuit - I like a pursuit bar for the ability to get low while maintaining a great power position for climbing.

Drop Bar Suggestions
Looking to change out my drop bar and go a little flatter on top. I'm using 40cm Bontrager Aluminum Currently. I ride a mixture of distances with a few sprints here or there. I've seen some sexy carbon bars out there with flatter tops and a shallow drops that have peaked my interest but not sure if i'm ready to jump to Carbon. I'm Carbunz-curious.
Anybody have reviews on running Carbon Drop bar on Aluminum Stem/Frame? Reviews on drops bars in the family of 3T Aeronova?

Aerobars/bullhorns and drop bars with a flat top section is the way to go. Pursuit bars aren't a terrible idea but would be way better with a flat top section. However I will say I prefer to be a little more upright not like a cruiser or upright hybrid though.
I am not really a single hand position type so risers and flat bars typically aren't my jam. I would go with bar ends of some sort of an integrated set up like Ergon makes.

Maybe it's nostalgia, but I've always liked flip 'n clips/flop 'n chops. They're short enough that you don't get stretched out, and there's enough so you have something to grip when climbing. I also like road drops, but there's not enough to grab when climbing. I can put hoods on them, but then I feel like I'm riding a freewheel bike, which throws me off, no punctuation intended.

I've done both the regular bullhorns and the pursuit (current) on my SS. The reason I did it is because I'd never had them before and wanted to try. I like the way both look, and both provide ample hand positions. The regular bullhorns had more flat on top, which was nice for slower upright riding or to rest after sprinting, but I also went with TT bar end brakes. Looked great, but bit of a reach and was kind of opposite where you wanted to be reaching when slowing down.
Now I switched to pursuits, with regular brakes. It's a good mix. I honeslty can't say which bar I prefer. The pursuits also look great, and function well for me.
Both bars are both from Origin 8.

I've been mulling over putting regular drops and brakes/hoods on this bike, as well as going up to maybe a 34 tire (after I get new wheels). Turn it into a little more of a urban commando type SS which would be useful on HOuston's ****ty roads.

The pivot arm bolt slips a bit when you go over a ton of bad bumps and slides downward, but it's not a big deal. Very happy with it.

Can that be run as a single mount in the middle? Looking for something that has clearance on a Specialized saddle, which I see there that you have.

The Cinelli bulls are sexy but I'm in love with dropping to drop position for sprints. Any body have a suggestion for flat tops like the Cinelli bulls but with drops for sprinting?
