I pack and have had to use all of these things at one time or another on my long road rides. I like the idea of carrying a spare tube AND a patch kit, since there had been times when it was impossible to patch the flat. I have been using a hand pump since accidentally discharging all the gas in my CO2 pump one time while loading the cartridge. I never thought to bring a shift cable. I needed one once, but was able to complete my ride without it.
