What happened to SPECIALIZED GLOBE line of bikes?
Like the title says, “What happened to SPECIALIZED GLOBE line of bikes?”
I have a SPECIALIZED GLOBE SPORT DISC and I really like it for my 20 mile a day commute. It’s been bullet proof. I know Specialized had a recall on the forks for I believe years 2007 & 2008 that I had done but it did not fail on me. The bike was priced right in my opinion giving really good value for your money. Besides me adding fenders and a rear rack it’s been one of the few bikes I have just adjusted seat, seat post, and handle bar position and rode it like it came. I even still ride it with the stock seat.

I think the Globe was sort of subsumed by both the Crossroads (been out for a while) and the Roll (a relatively new model). I reckon Specialized thought they had too many lines of similar bikes (the Globe appears very similar to the Sirrus, too), so they consolidated a little bit.

Spun off into its own company in 2009 and then brought back under the Specialized umbrella in 2015 as far as I can tell. The latest model I can find was offered in 2016.
No idea but probably what @hokiefyd said -- consolidated with other models. Spesh does that periodically.

Yeah, Globe was brought back into Specialized and its bikes put into the general Specialized line up. The AWOL was originally a Globe project, taken over by Specialized adventure and then killed off with the Sequoia in the interests of the more performance oriented aspects of the company. The Roll was another notable Globe bike.
