Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Black Reynolds decals. Rear rim is dead and awaiting the Addiction old carbon strength contest.

Hmmm. Yeah, I like the decals more than only the stem decals - looks too blah/generic. I'll poke around and see if there are some black/stealth decals

A week or so ago, the 830 started giving me fits, discharging overnight and also having boot issues. I called Garmin and the tech told me some 830s had issues and they were going to release an update soon that was supposed to fix it. He sent me the beta update and walked me through the install. Seems to work fine now.

While he was on the phone, we talked about some issues that I’d had with their products in the past and I mentioned that before my 1030 died, it had had a light leak halo since it was new. Bingo! Magic words. I had heard some 1030s had had that issue and he offered to replace my broken 1030 with a refurb free of charge. He didn’t care that it was broken. I sent a pic of the “haloed” screen and he approved the free replacement.
Scores!

There's also the look I kinda like of one full brand decal for the valve stem marker. Not generic, but still more minimal.

Someone on here made fun of the valve decals on my Giant deep dish rims. Don’t remember who.

This, I wouldn't mind (minus the model designation at 3 and 9 o'clock) -

Edit: better example pic

Like what? I can't think of what you mean.

Another think that I like is the... hmmmm - rim-shaped slice of a large decal. Kind of like what Light Bicycle does (and others, but I can't think of examples off the top of my head),

When you have time on your hands during the zombie apocalypse, you can get the blow dryer out, remove wheel decals, and then painstakingly apply new decals without air bubbles.

I got an invite to a small group ride later this week. No matter what, I’m pretty sure that 6-10’ distancing won’t be practiced. I declined.

I can handle solo until this is all over.

Someone really needs to call Excel and offer them $1200 for this. I'd love to but my wife would kill me. Kill me.

Man, I finally find a halfway decent price on my favorite cheepo wheels and they're on some site I've never heard of

Wonder if I should roll the dice, help out the Italian economy...

Got any graphic designer friends?

What about getting some custom ones made that match the color of the Cervelo on the downtube?

Agree. I'm holding off on disc because I have enough rim brake wheels to last me until I die.

You know what I was thinking would be a decent half-step? Just axing the bigger Reynolds decals and leaving the small Assault opposite the valve stem logo. I'll have to look closely at them, though, because I'm not sure if there are four separate decals on there or what, and I don't want to get out an x-acto to splice and dice.

I did look for some of those black decals, but nothing on the 'net. I'll have to email Reynolds, but I just got an email from them the other day and they were bought out by some other outfit or something...

If she shows some maturity she possibly could transfer there after 1 or 2 years closer to home.

NYU is possible, but TBH the cost of NYU (after the modest scholarship they gave her) will cost about 6x the cost of Temple (which has offered her free tuition for 4 years, we just pay expenses).

We are going to have a big fight on our hands, and I don't look forward to it. There will be more drama to come.
Well done datlasdaughter
