Another typical hot and humid August day in The MidSouth, but I am feeling better than a couple days ago.
Got in 105 minutes without a headache.

The heat did me in today. Still managed 40 miles. Time to sit at home in the A/C and do nothing the rest of the day.

AS FOR MYSELF -----
I had hoped to start today's ride at 12:01AM but neglected to set my phone alarm and as a result I began at 12:51AM. Not a bad night at all being a little cooler than expected at 77F and a Waning Gibbous moon at 68% visibility. The ride was progressing nicely when at just 1hr 5minutes 45seconds into the ride and 17.25 miles completed I executed a 10 score-right side TOMBAY. The 2018 Roubaix Expert was properly protected as I employed a text book impact maneuver landing on my less than 2 year old completely new right shoulder and the 68yo right hip with an added bump on the helmet AND even managed to remain clipped in with my left foot all to the amusement of a early morning driver. After a few moments of looking like a fish out of water I unclipped, got up, reset the chain and was off to complete the additional 107.26 miles for a 125.51 mile total.
Will see how the shoulder feels in the next few days and if need be I will see the ortho a bit earlier than my October 10th, 2 year check-up.

I got out early this morning to beat the heat, and right after I hit up the local Farmers Market for fresh veggies.
Got in 102 minutes.

Well, beside my weekly 200 km commuting, I did a 108 km today. Weather was nice (25C) but the wind were a bit strong so the first half was a bit more tedious than the second half.

12 miles on the hybrid Saturday, first ride in a week. Been sick but feeling better. Tempted to ride farther but the heat was sapping me so I kept it short.
First ride on that hybrid since I was hit by a car while I was riding that bike in May. Friends kept it for me while I was recovering and even replaced the warped wheels. Fortunately the frame wasn't damaged.
I'd almost forgotten how comfortable that hybrid is compared with my road bike. Much easier on my injured shoulder, although I'm gonna swap the mostly straight riser bars for albatross -- the back swept bar should put my hands and arms in a more comfortable position.

Got home a little while ago and just got out of the shower... 29.5 miles in 1 hr 56 min... What a great ride! Not too hot, not too humid... I could have stayed out for hours and hours, doing laps inside that big complex called West Creek Pkwy here in the western suburbs of Richmond, Virginia.
This is from inside West Creek Pkwy, just before the 288 expressway overpass.
And lastly, here is the layout map from MapMyRide, showing the 29½ mile ride from my house. West Creek Pkwy is that lopsided looking horseshoe shape going from either side of Patterson Ave (Route 6), with the 288 expressway passing over it in the middle. Lots of business developments in there and it's AWESOME to ride in there on the weekends when all the businesses are closed! Out 'n back is approx 6 miles. Lots and lots and lots of riders are in there along with joggers too!

Away for the long weekend.
Borrowed daughter’s (previously wife’s) bike.
Gained a bit of respect for upright riders who fight wind or hills with fat tires. Thank goodness for skinny tires, drop handlebars and aero position.

34 miles Sunday evening, mostly a casual group ride with friends. Haven't done enough of that this year. Very pleasant, just some gusty winds occasionally before the weather changes this week. Feeling a little stronger after getting back on thyroid meds.

12 mi on trainer. Rainy, windy and cool so I closed up the gazebo and rode inside outside. Used Zwift for the first time and don't understand why it is so popular. At 79 "everyone" was passing me. Speed way off and no way I could find to set wheel size. Few more days to go on my free trial and right now not likely to keep using it.

Happy Labor Day!
I got out early this morning, and wanted to check out a couple new roads to get out into a more rural area for a change.
Got in 2.0 hours on a quite windy day.

Saturday: 55 mile dirt ride with a large group from the Club
Sunday: 35 mile solo road ride
Today: 78 mile road ride with the missus. 5,000' elevation. Yep, I guess we're still training for that stupid Fondo!

Don't mince words
Rode with 2 other tandems and a couple of half-bikes. Our tandem took us 41 fast miles! A beautiful morning to ride in NorCal.

Hung out with a biker gang over Labor Day Weekend in Grand Rapids at the Midwest Tandem Rally. Got in a bit more than one hundred miles Friday - Sunday. Including about 9 miles in rain on Saturday. About 300 teams, including several triplet tandems.
Lucky pup named Angel got to ride in a bag on the back of her team's captain.

12 mi on trainer again. Not enough time to ride roads before rain. Second day playing with Zwift. Not impressed at all but can see how the kids might like it.

I've been training for another Century Ride. Did 40 miles Sunday, and rode in to work today-- 14 miles in 50 minutes. A bit faster than usual.
