34 miles Sunday evening, including casual group ride with friends. Very pleasant evening, a little misty at times but nice change from the summer heat and recent downpours. Shoulder injury finally feeling like it's making some progress. Looking forward to re-evaluation by physical therapist next week.

Today, commuted to work. First ride of the season that required long sleeves! Will get the usual ~19 miles total upon the return home.

Yesterday, 36 mile ride with the missus that included a 3 or 4 mile stretch of some of the most hellaciously gnarly rock/dirt/debris I think I've ever ridden a bike on! Even more terrifying than the crazy single-track MTB stuff I did 25 years ago. Not sure whose brilliant idea that was, but we survived, and felt empowered by having completed that stretch without injury.

Did the 2 gap route in the annual West Hill Grinder in Putney, VT. 34 miles, 3,400’ of climbing. Few, if any, of the riders were my age and the satisfaction of completing rides like this is tempered by the fact that, especially on the hills, I get left behind.

20 miles as a bike commuter today. A few sprinkles off and on all the way to work but beautiful weather the rest of the day, including the ride home.

Haven't posted this week but I rode 60 miles on Sunday, 40 on Tuesday and another 60 miles today. Temps are still in the 90s here and making these long rides pretty difficult to finish. I know some guys on this forum go out at midnight but that just won't work where I'm at. There's really no place to ride at night/early morning, not even if I travel somewhere.

35 miles Friday night, including downtown Critical Mass ride. Beautiful weather. Good to be riding again, really enjoying the relaxed feel of the hybrid with albatross bar while my shoulder is healing. Gotta stay off the road bike awhile longer -- it was aggravating the injured shoulder.

Replaced the riser bar with Nitto albatross. Much more comfortable, with more hand positions. I'll eventually replace these inexpensive SunRace thumb shifters with bar end shifters.

After a week of laziness and uncooperative weather I came up every excuse in the book to Not ride.
I finally made it out for a 100 minute ride today in very nice early Fall weather.

Sunday -- Today was a lovely spring day, although there was a bit of wind about.

So, Rowan and I got outside for our longest ride since his accident ... on our Bike Fridays, on the Cycleway.

Distance: 21.29km
Elevation: 189m
Moving Time: 1:17:18
Elapsed Time: 1:19:25
Speed: Avg: 16.5km/h | Max: 28.1km/h

And then I went for a short run.

Distance: 2.26km
Elevation: 14m
Moving Time:15:22
Elapsed Time:15:28
Pace: 6:48/km

for both of you.

I got out yesterday for a disappointing 57 miles. Wasn't able to stay with the Saturday LBS group and since I started late I just didn't feel like going for the 100.

I finally was able to find some free time to get my C&V '85 Fuji out and go for a nice, quick 'n easy, 17.3 mile out 'n back ride along River Rd. Besides all the rain we've had recently (Richmond, VA got spared by Hurricane Florence), we did get some of the backlash from it and had rainstorms for days and days on end.

Anyway, here is the simple map layout from that site MapMyRide showing the 17.30 mile out 'n back ride.

So peaceful... I assume a lot of people were in church this morning and River Rd was almost deserted!!

Here's a shot from the side of the road that always makes me chuckle... "Lower Tuckahoe"? But yet I always wonder, "where is Upper Tuckahoe?" ha ha ha...

It had been several weeks since I had a chance to get out, so I just did an easy 17 mile ride on the '74 Motobecane Grand Touring today with the intent of focusing on the scenery rather than maintaining an average speed. It was a great decision.

Good day for riding

Did 18 miles today and 20 yesterday along the Maine coast. Good waves at Higgins Beach and around 40-50 surfers enjoying them

Longest ride since I returned

2250 feet of elevation. 28 miles. 700 passing cars, trucks and rv's. Best ride in a while.

Saturday - 50 mile group ride (road)
Sunday - 65 mile group ride (dirt ...which rhymes with hurt. 65 miles and 5,000' elevation on dirt, gravel, and mud is no joke! Can barely walk today!)
Today -- see above; hell no!
