Just read an article on the bicycle rolling resistance site where they are doing an extended test of the GP 5000. I tried them and blew one out and chewed up the other on inside of 500 miles. So far they've gone over 600 with no issues.
So I guess it really is me, after all.

I don't have a racer at the moment, and I don't dare say out loud what type of tyres I use compared to GP 5000. I tend to replace tyres after a year or so, just a daily round on my bike not counting miles or kilometers. How reliable are the best 23 mm low weight tyres? I know Kevlar, but not yet had my hands on Vectran enforced light weights.

Interesting. My experience was about the same. I noticed what I think was a sidewall defect a couple of hundred miles in on my first set (it could have been damaged from road debris, but it looked like a defect). Then I got a puncture that would not seal and ruined the tire trying to plug it.
I've got almost 800 trouble free miles on the second set.

Those 5000's with less crr and a little smaller and closer to size profile is looking really good.
A few places online often run a two-for sale. I'll have to pony up pretty soon.
Ohhhhhh, try those 5000's with latex. Hnnnnnnggggg. It's a nice ride and lower crr on the 4000's per BRR website.

Can any one tell me the sizing for 28mm of the GP5000 vs the GP4000 and 4seasons? Im after the lowest profile tyre for greatest possible run clearance. Cheers

I just replaced my 25's. They had about 4,000 on them. Cords started to show on rear. No flats and liked how they felt. Went back with same exact tires.
