Campy cranks question

Last week I picked up a cannondale sr600 with a nice nuovo record crank set. I want to switch with the victory cranks I have on my Ciocc. I understand that the cup threads are different but can I just swap cranks and spindles?

It would depend on the spindle length. I'm not sure if Nuovo and Victory use the same spindle length, if they do I would just swap the cranks.

Victory uses a shorter spindle: 109mm vs the 114.5mm you probably have on the C'dale.

Victory also uses thin cups, Record uses the thick, rifled cups.

So if you try to put your [Italian] Victory spindle into your [English] BB shell and cups, it'll never fit.
Now if you were trying to put an English Victory spindle into an Italian BB w/Record cups, it might actually work.

I'd say just try swapping cranks and spindles.

This. If it works it works. If it doesn't, you'll only be out 5 minutes (swap only one side) and you'll have data you can use in the purchase of another BB, if you want to go that way.

No; Victory uses thin cups and a symmetrical spindle, while Nuovo Record uses the thick, rifled cups and an asymmetrical spindle.
