New bike day - gotta post it in every thread. Felt F1X with Hed Belgium/Chris King R45 wheelset. Avid Shorty Ultimate brakes with kool stop salmons. It's a boring looking bike, but it fits my needs perfectly and should be a good ride. I still need to slam the stem..

He's nothing head turning, but this is Frank the Tank, my foul weather commuter. Rode it yesterday because my SS Raleigh is in the shop.
~'94 Trek Mountain Track 820. Still all original parts save for the seat & grips.

^^^ Those 1990s rigid mtbs are truly versatile bikes. Looks a lot like my 1991 Bridgestone MB-3, except that I've changed mine to a double chainring setup. I've also got full fenders on mine.

Yeah I took off the Topeak rear rack this past weekend since I've switched to backpack over pannier for now - and I forgot that the rack acted as a fender but remembered as soon as I went through puddles and mud in the park on the way to work. sigh.

Also I bought that when I was in 7th grade (1993/94). Had my parents ship it down to me here in TX last year to use as a rough rider. It helps that I haven't grown since........well, I'm 5'5" so I never grew.

Fresh Garbage
The mtb is now squishy and fun. I hope my insides won't feel totally wrecked after long rides anymore.

sweet bike @hairnet. It's a lot like mine, steel, hardtail, discs, suspension fork, "one-by" drivetrain. I'll get some pics up of mine when I'm not too lazy.

Also pretty similar to my 1991 Stumpjumper, which is almost completely original. That bike took me on a lot fun adventures. I still have it, though I seldom ride it anymore. Compared to what everyone is riding today, it looks absolutely primitive, but those unsuspended, steel, 26" mountain bikes are surprisingly capable.

I have thought about borrowing my dad's to see how well it stays in place with pedaling and transitions from the seating and standing positions, as well as if it restricts heavy breathing. Oddly, I didn't have much of an issue doing the same trails on my CX bike and it was more present when I rode single speed.

They work like a million bucks on MX bikes. You feel stronger and your organs and spine feel way less vulnerable. Give it a shot just bouncing up and down some curbs in front of the house.

The frame is a Ritchey P-650b, 2015. Fork is a Fox Float 32. Got some XT hydro discs on there, and a cobbled together 1x10' XT driverain. The rims are Reynolds XC (don't remember the model) and I'm running tubeless with 2.24 Maxxis Ardents. Love it.

The hoods look high on the Bianchi. I think the bar has to be rotated down.

Spent very little money cleaning it up. Biggest pain was the frozen seat tube which took me three days to loosen up. Derailleurs were a disaster but they lined up and adjusted sweetly. Lots of vinegar on rusted nuts and bolts to clean them up.
Thanks. I'll check the bar angle when back in town. The reflector will come off if I don't sell it.

thanks! the angle or the height? running them too high made my shoulders and neck hurt. running them angled down (with the drops "level") didn't feel as good as this angle....
