Any thoughts on what a fair value is on this David Tesch 101 on eBay? I think the ask is high, but would be curious to know what a realistic value is.

IMHO, they're worth between $900 and $1500, depending on the market... Great bikes with aggressive geometry.

If it floats your boat (and certainly should imho) you better buy it. Maybe message them with an offer, the ask is high imo also, but the other ask is will you see another like this and how hard are you going to be kicking yourself if you let it get away. I paid the better part of that for each of my Merz's gladly and couldn't be happier.

It's an interesting bike, but there are lots of interesting bikes available atm.

Let it sit at a higher price for a while.

You may be surprised what folks will agree to when they find out their "rare" gem isn't going anywhere.

I see a guy riding one of these near my work. His is black and it's a sweet looking ride.

The bike posted is nice, but not $2k nice. Agree on $1300-1500.

I sold my first one in 2005, almost perfect condition. It had C Record, delta brakeset, and an extra set of clincher wheels. Got $1300 for it.

Sold a bare NOS frame a year or so ago for ~$750.

Picked up an S-22 off of CL 2 years ago for $200.

The one in the ebay ad is a very early one. If I were in the market, and really wanted it bad, I’d go up to $1500.

Here’s another early one with very similar frame details:
