Picking these up tomorrow.
I just had the best experience with a seller. These two bikes were listed on Facebook Marketplace, I contacted the seller and told her I was interested in both, but I was at the fire department until tomorrow morning. I told her I would contact her tomorrow and hopefully they would still be there. She told me she would hold them, they belonged to her dad and he was a firefighter. On top of that she drastically lowered the price for both.

I was bummed that the original Cinelli saddle was missing on the Black Lightning. But then noticed it on the Raleigh.

Dang, a Black Lightning? Those are iconic. Unbelieveable to find that on Facebook Marketplace (Huffyville). Congrats!

Always nice to find complete bikes.
With a story.
In good shape.
And at reduced prices.
Firefighters and first responders (and others, too) are a remarkable asset to their communities. No better calling than saving lives. If you can cut the mustard.

Good for her, and even better for you. Nothing like a win-win transaction.

When you pick them up, don't forget to ask her if she has any other extra parts or wheels to throw in with the package.

The Cannondale is a hot mess, mostly cosmetic except for a broken flange on the front hub. The Raleigh is in pretty good shape. Very nice chrome, but the paint is flaking in a few spots. Overall I think it will make a nice bike. Unbelievable that nothing was stuck. Fortunately I only paid $140 for both and $20 for gas.

I love the Raleigh! I picked up an 84 Competition just like this one for $250 last year even though I knew it was too small for me. My brother has it now and it’s just his size. I knew he’d want it so I had to get it. I’m still looking for mine and I’m jealous as can be, especially at less than half the price with a Cannondale thrown in. Nice find!
