Bertin C37

Hi Everyone,
It was suggested I post pictures of my new purchase, a 1973 Bertin C37, here. I hope you enjoy them.

I believe it was made in Belgium because the French factory had burned down.

Nice bike. I have the same Solibloc frame pump, also in red anodizing.

Surprising to me that any Bertins were specced with hanger-less dropouts, but I don't know much about Bertins.

Pretty bike! The black tires do not do it justice. Are forks chromed or painted silver?

non-fixe-

Belgian bikes often had socks with silver paint. It seems to be a distinguishing practice for Belgian production. Some Belgian bikes had chrome plated socks as is more familiar on British and French higher end production framesets.

I think this will be a nice handling bike.
I do not agree that it is a C37 model, at least as the French Bertin named them, stamped ends, reasonable but not top level component spec. Lugs are not the long used Nervex pro or the later used examples with windows.

I agree with @repechage

Maybe a 132 or at best a 34?

EDIT -- Catalogs to x-ref: bulgier.net - /pics/bike/Catalogs/Bertin-Milremo/

It’s a great handling bike.
I've yet to find anything about the Bertin bikes made in the Belgian factory.

before I bought this I test rode a 3Rensho Katana Pro (DuraAce) a Pinarello, and a Nishiki and a Yokota both of which had Tange no.2 tubing. The latter had upgraded Ultegra brifters. Oh. I almost forgot - I also test road a Scattante scandium and carbon fiber DuraAce bike. All very nice.

However, I truly liked this Bertin the best, the Katana Pro was just as nice a ride, and handles just as well but I think the Bertin is a better fit. Ok I know the haters are going to crucify me for the comparison. But hey, it’s true.

And this is the most important part

(btw - the bike looks nice, regardless what it is!)
