Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Rear derailleur compatibility

I was wondering if you could use a 9 speed mountain bike shifter with brifters. Specifically the 9 speed Acera rear derailleur with the Shimano sora st-r3000.

Nine-sp mtb cassette should have the same spacing as 9-sp road cassette. Therefore, the shifter/derailleur should have the same spacing intervals. So yes, it should work. My question is why? Did you crash and break the Sora RD?
