105 brifters are extremely hard to shift, help!
Been doing a lot of mountain biking lately so the road bike hasn't seen much action lately. I finally went to take it for a ride and the shifter take a lot of force to move. Once its engaged the derailleurs works fine but it takes way more effort than it did before. I've heard of shooting lots of WD40 inside the shifters may help. Looking for idea's to get it back to where it was without replacing cables and housing.
Thanks

Could be dried lubricant inside the housings, or possibly rust. I'd ride it a while and see if it breaks back in. Or squirt some thin oil/solvent mix into the housings, especially thye rear loop and see if that changes anything.
