The Eastern Sierra Double was last weekend. The weather was changeable and iffy. We had sun. We had rain. We had hail. The highlight (or lowlight) for me was a 30 MPH+ wet-braked descent down to the finish down the Sherwin Grade in twilight darkness (and with a lot of migrating deer about no less). But it wasn't without it's charms.

Long days gave me time to ride an extra bit, so the Cedar River Trail also goes to Lake Washington, past the Boeing 737 plant.

What’s that old saying? The “best things in life are free...”
I had a nice free ride in the area near my home.

Share the Road? Not around the commute hours...... no shoulder on most sections make May Valley Rd a sketchy route except on weekends.

We could use the rain, but this mostly just ‘blew through’.

Completed my first multi-day bike ride, and came home with plenty of pictures. Can't post any here however as I'm apparently still subject to the new member penalty, which I think says no posting photos until after posting enough text-only messages. Trying again . . .

On the GAP trail, Great Allegheny Passage, somewhere near the Mason Dixon Line, gazing over four states.

I did 34+ miles Saturday morning on my 2013 Fuji Absolute 2.1, starting before dawn to beat the Texas heat. Calm winds, but the 90% humidity was BRUTAL. I was glad I wore a Camelback in addition to bringing a bottle to squirt through the helmet vents.

Lights taken without a flash

Reflective strips on the Schwalbe Marathons and Transit saddle bag taken with the flash.

Texas Longhorns. Because, well, it's Texas...

Dawn breaking

The trail runs along Interstate I-35E while it crosses Lewisville Lake. The sunrise is one of the many reasons I like leaving before dawn.

Ahhhhhh, my view the next week. Sunset will be over the marsh. Margaritas are already getting chilled!!!

I’ll be riding over the bridge in the background to get off the island.

Ocean Water pretty clear today

This bike is pretty much relegated to beach rides anymore.

Just a ride in need of some road miles.

Cumberland, pop = not too many in ‘town’.

Turned up a new road, whoops it follows the Green River which is a major drinking water supply for Tacoma.
