Not my bike and not really vintage, but a lady's personal celebration of beating cancer. She bought a Land Shark frame, hand painted it, then had it clearcoated and built by Land Shark.

When you collect Rossins, that's a very simple request:

Aahhh, the divine Swiss fade! I had an Allegro with similar paint many years ago and also a Mondia but mine was a deviant--a solid, single-color Mondia! No, it wasn't a Juvela. Swiss multi colored fades are kind of their own aesthetic school, you know?

So, this is my 1988 Peugeot Triathlon in the "Dope as F-ck" (per shop guy) Purple to Pearl White fade. A wee bit of 90s purple anodized madness takes it to 11. Shimergo Drivetrain (Veloce Ergos, Sugino GP130 crankset, and Tiagra derailleurs). Wheels are Kinlin XR240 laced to Circus Monkey Hubs. Other than the hubs, all of it was "stash" stuff that coalesced together into this rolling David Lee Roth.

Headed home

Off the stand.

Crankset with purple bolts and Purple LOOK Delta pedals

You're either man enough to get past it (Just a Gigolo), or saltpeter takes a back seat to that thing. Super cool build. Hard to source stuff for that, belies a patient search. I may have a purple leopard-skin saddle, somewhere....

Looking at adding these:

Hudz Campy V3

and possibly one of these perches of infinite taste:

The interesting thing about this thread is that I'm not sure where I draw the line between beautiful and gaudy. The lady's bike that @Slightspeed posted is surely beautiful.

Another roadie-fest... Time to balance things out. Only pic I could find, not the best quality.

'93 Rockhopper Comp, FREE on CL last Sept. Needed nothing but lube, etc. Pic is "shed fresh" from the donor, before I'd even wiped it clean. It has since received a fresher set of tires and a shorter-reach stem.

This is a Pegoretti that was displayed at the Brooks booth at the 2009 NAHBS at Indy.

Can't help but wonder how many hours of work went into that paint!
