Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My new Trek Emonda ALR Custom Build

Pretty psyched on my new Trek ALR. I built it custom from the frame up. It's a nice climber, fast and great all arounder. Looking forward to more rides with it.

That's a nice bike. Is your seat post as long as your seat tube?

That is a lot of post, but you do what you have to if you don't fit standard sizes. Nice bike!

Haha yeah, it's a bit long. The camera is also in superview so it's bending the image a bit. Yeah, all my frames are 58cm and my post sticks up a bit. 60cm was a bit to large for me.

You must be all legs and short torso.

I like the satin black finish.

Why the ST-6800s? Just what you had lying around?

Yeah I have long legs and short torso. This seems to fit pretty great. I do think I need a longer stem. Currently riding 110mm. Maybe I will get a 120mm or 130mm.

Yeah since they were compatible with the rest of my R8000 group, I just took them off my old bike. Nothing wrong with them, and they shift great.
