Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sore Butt

Here's the deal... I've got a professionally fitted cannondale road bike, but I'm having a really hard time getting past 50 miles due to a sore butt. My legs are good, but my butt (and to a lesser degree neck) is almost unbearable. The pain is right on the bones, but is mostly on the surface of the skin.

I wear high quality padded shorts, and I've even started putting baby powder in them. Still I get the same results.

My seat is also high quality (one of the new specialized seats) and I have over 500 miles on it.

I need to figure out how to keep my butt from being the limiting factor on how far I can ride.

Have you tried chamoise cream. This seems to help me. If you havn't tried it go for it. It's well worth it.
