Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Campy was what I was thinking too, would definitely match the frame well.

For my new budget build

These are great cranks for the money. I've had them for about 2 years and I have not one complaint.

Just bought some chain cleaner. I didn't realize how dirty my chain was until I sprayed that stuff on. Oh my God. I used a whole can, and still didn't get all of the grime off! Cleaned it up as best I could, put some Boeshield T-9 on, and now this thing is sooo quiet! No more little crunching sounds or anything.

<--- Happy camper.

Needed a new helmet after being in an accident when a car stops in the middle of the intersection in my path only to continue driving straight. Hard to explain the whole situation but old helmet is a goner.

Cant ride my bike yet as Im still healing, but looking forward to when I can.

Helmets work. Use them.

CO2 is much better. Just remember to read the directions. No one wants a face full of CO2...

Picked up a set of 2010 Mavic Ellipses today for $250 for my Mash. Moved my black deep V's to the kilo.

The rear ellipse has a lot of resistance and makes a squeaking sound, I assume it needs new bearings? Are all hub cartridge bearings the same size and just varying quality or will I need a specific spec?

There is also a loctited lockring on one side, that I hope my LBS can get off, however the other side is fine.

No wonder it was $250!

I bought some Eneloops for my flashlight and a camera mount.

I'm considering finding something to build as a polo bike...

I got all OCD on it and wrapped it overlapping to cover them all. Unfortunately that essentially makes it impossible to cover the entire bars. Maybe I'll rewrap and deal with them showing until they wear.
