Front pad/disc noise when brake pulled

I'm still new to disc brakes so forgive me for any silly questions.

Lately I've noticed the front brake makes a snap/click kind of noise each time it's applied, at the instant the pads contact the disc. Sounds almost like a magnet attaching itself to metal. The brake feels and acts fine so I'm wondering if this is anything to be concerned about? a sign of wear? the noise seems more prevalent during warmer parts of the day than cooler.
It's a cable disc mechanism if that helps.

Most likely the click is the pads slightly shifting within their cavity, in the caliper. The pads have to have a bit of slop to be able to move in and out during braking on and offs. Andy.
