Question for those who have purchased a spare front frame rack. Do they fit well with the Carradice strap system which comes on them? I’d like to try one with the handle already on the rack.

Best tires for the Brompton! I've tried the old Kojaks, the Marathons and the Marathon Racers and these blow them out of the water in regards to comfort and speed. They're not as resistant to flats but I'll personally take a better ride over flat protection any day... Enjoy!

So the initials of the frame brazer are stamped on the bottom plate holding the BB. Mine read BB.

Does anyone know if Brompton has released the names of their brazer for us to match it with them?

Another question for all who own a Brompton.

On the drive side rear frame there is a metal band welded on. The brake cable passes right beside it. Is it suppose to be routed through the band ? If not, what is the purpose of this welded piece? Can someone look at their B and see if their brake cable does or doesn’t pass through it?

I covered the opening with duct tape to prevent water ingress.

I asked a question about the front bag frame and weather they can work well with the Carradice bags which normally hang off the back(#27 post). Nobody responded so I decided to go ahead and get one. Finally found In Stock! at Perennial cycles. I got the C/T rack size.

I will let you know how it fits these bags when it comes in. Whenever it stops raining!

There is no need to ever fix a Brompton flat again. I have started adding Stans sealant to my Brompton and flats are a thing of the past. Just add 2 oz of sealant to the inner tube every 2 to 4 months. It takes 3 minutes to do and unless you rip the tire your good. The last time I added sealant I found a goat head in the tire, pulled it out and within seconds the hole was sealed. I also did this on my Carry Me and found some white stuff on the tire after a ride and realized it was sealant. If you have ever changed a Carry Me rear wheel it makes Brompton repair look easy. Just remove the value core add sealant replace core and pump up the tire. There are several videos on how it's done. If anyone is wondering it doesn't add weight and you won't know its there until you see white stuff on the tire.

So, a pair of Schwalbe One and a pint of Stan's Tire Sealant is a good, worry-free alternative to Schwalbe Marathon Plus.

My experience with Stan's in my Brompton was not great. Two days after putting in Stan's I got an 1 1/2 inch gash. What a mess it made. Goop all over. I realize that was not Stan's fault. Still, I was quite apprehensive that it would mess up the Uber driver's car who brought me home. I stopped using Stan's because it was clogging up tire valves when adding air. And I don't get many flats even on Comets in city riding until they get too worn.

Don’t know. I also want to try the Kodak’s as well. These Marathons which came OEM are still brand new.

Schwalbe says Kojak has a belt of puncture protection. Primo Comets without Kevlar belt do not have puncture protection. They seem more supple to me than Kojak.
I believe they are made by Cheng Shin in Taiwan.

With some good rides in I would say the saddle on it does fine. Lots of riding around town and errands on it with no discomfort. Will see when the weather warms and a long ride happens if I change my mind.

I have such a nice Swift to put on it though!

If I would buy a new pair of tires for my Brompton I'd go with the Continental urban tires they seem like the best choice between speed and protection. As far as Stans in the tube they're not going to help with 1 inch plus tears of course. I fixed 200 plus flats over the years and only 2 ripped tires so I'll stay with the Stans. I carry a tire boot for times like that but Gorilla tape would do as well. The Schwalbe one is too high priced for its size. I've got Maxxis Minions 29ers and they are less expensive than the Ones. For that price they should have AAA come and fix a flat.

The rack did come in and I have fitted both the Junior and Camper long flap to it. With the short leather straps that come with each bag I can’t say I am impressed with the fit. Between the two, the Camper longflap has a better attachment chance. I believe toe straps would allow these bags to better sit on the rack.

That will be my next stage in this project.
