New Bike Arrived with a Crack

I’ve just received a brand new Bianchi Sprint 105 from an online bike shop and was disheartened to find a crack along the top tube.

The bike was shipped with the bars flipped over and the crack / mark aligns perfectly with where the break levers would have been.

I’ve emailed the retailer with pictures. If I knew the mark was purely superficial I’d happily cycle away. Am I being OTT to seek a return?

You are okay insisting on whatever you want. The vendor will be okay if they insist on going by the terms you agreed to by making the purchase whether you read them or not.

Even if they won't do anything you should check who can claim the insurance from the carrier. However that requires reading the fine print too.

Well..can you take a few pictures? You can't post them until you have 10 posts, so upload them someplace and post a link to it.

Don't know what OTT means but you should just suck it up and accept a damaged bike.

Of course return it! It broke during shipment.

This is the peril of buying a bike on the internet. Hopefully they are a authorized Bianchi dealer and are willing to help. If not have fun with a cool wall hanger.

Make sure you save the pictures you took of the bike inside the box and all of the damage as well as pictures of the outside of the box because you will need it filing a claim with the shipper and the shop may need it as well.

Next time, make sure the bike comes with brake levers not "break levers", they will do it to you every time.
