You're ignoring the lated published research that shows that fried oysters reduce chain friction by 0.02 Watts compared to PTFE in paraffin, 0.03W compared to triflow, and 0.04W compared to motor oil. I've created a whole system for dipping my chains in fried osters.

It’s 1:15 in the AM and jonesing for some fried clams! I’ll have to hit Seafood Sam’s, on the Canal this weekend! They just opened for the Season!

Your workbench looks a little bit like mine. Large, but only about enough cleared off space for the current project. Although all my spray lubes, and other such products are on a separate shelf. Other “ongoing” projects sorta get pushed aside to be finished at a later time while the current project is dealt with.

Have you tried FB marketplace? There's a bunch of cheap crabs on there, you might be able to grab other seafood things..

I prefer a smooth part, so it needs to be waxed. Now if I'm in a hurry & need to get it done fast, I'll use a good lube.

Waxing... chains... when does the subject of leather come up?
Oh, here: In a former life, when I still had a motorcycle, I used to run my waxed chain over leather, which worked out much better for me than other lube and low friction plastic. It was so much more forgiving in terms of chain whip.
