Hi from Michigan
Hey all. Sort of strange, I'm on all sorts of forums for other hobbies, but not any bike forums, so here I am Mostly a mountain biker, had a couple of road bikes over the years, but as with my motorcycles, I can't ride comfortably on the road with the general decline of the average driver, so I gave up road bikes, powered or not. Had a few years recently that I just didn't/couldn't ride much, our son got sick with a rare blood condition, and that culminated in a bone marrow transplant, so we spent much of a couple years driving back and forth across MI to the children's hospital at Univ. of Michigan. Hard to fit in much riding around that. He's constantly improving now, and at 11 today we just got him a new Trek Marlin 5 in an XS to replace his Specialized Riprocks that 6 year old sister now rides.
I had bought a Kona Wozo in 2018 to ride slow with the kids, and pull a trailer, that was a big change from my carbon Cannondale XC race bike, but it served its purpose well, and I just sold it for 2K since apparently it is hard to find new fat tire bikes with front suspension, so I feel really good about that! Needed something faster to keep up with kids, and so I just bought a Kona Hei Hei CR, got a great deal on a 2022, and then put the savings right back into upgrading much of the bike, GX AXS group, carbon cranks, different brakes, bar/stem, so I'm looking forward to picking that up later this week.
Hoping to get my wife into riding more, going to start a new thread on questions about updating/replacing her bike.
But looking forward to getting into more trail riding with the kids now that things are returning to normal for us, hope to get some good info here!
Thanks!

Welcome. Glad the kid is recovering.
Not a Michigander myself, but about 24 years ago I got a great deal on a slightly used Yooper. Still married, even though we don't ride the tandem much anymore.
