November 2020 100+ Miles/km Thread

October is wrapping up and lots of folks hammered it! What are your goals for November? I'm likely going to scale back a bit this month...hopefully 700 miles.

I’m having a little trouble figuring out a goal for November. After 7 months of unemployment-induced freedom to ride pretty much wherever, whenever, I’ve finally landed a real job and will have to start working on a daily basis. Not sure when, but probably pretty early on in November. The good news is the new workplace is 13 miles from home and pretty rideable, so I hope to get in at least 26 miles a day. There are 21 work days in November, not that I’ll be working on Thanksgiving, but I’ll include it as a stretch goal. So that’s 546 miles, throw in some weekend stuff, let’s call it 600 and see where it goes.

Monthly Goal: 600 miles

November goal is 600 miles, the kid is coming home to visit for a month so riding should be reduced and there is another trip.

I'm gonna refrain from committing to a 100-mile goal this month. I barely squeaked 100 for October due to all of the rain and cold temps, and November in Ohio usually equals more of that. If I get enough rides in that 100+ miles happens, I'll drop them all in a post later in the month.

From now until...probably April, I'm committing only to one ride per calendar week. That may seem laughable, but when we get into snowstorm season, it will be challenging to get even that.

November Goal: 350

Nov 1: 21

MTD: 21

Got my first ride in for Nov. I’m going with 350 for the goal, but it is very dependent on the weather. Today was beautiful and I wish I had time for a longer ride

11/1 - 18.3 mi.

MTD: 18.3 mi.
Monthly Goal: 600 miles

Had planned to do 24, but popped a spoke at 10.8 miles, so I loosened up the rear brake so it would roll and limped home via a shortcut. But those 18 mles sure felt good. Off to work now.

I had a great October but November may be different; weather, especially rain and wind may affect my goal, so I am giving myself a goal of 600 miles with hopes that not too many days are cancelled because of weather. My body is back to almost 100 percent now so that should not be a problem. Gonna see my doctor for my final post surgery check this coming Tuesday (Nov. 3) and feeling like all is a good to go. On another note, I've been riding for almost three years now and for the first time I am experiencing chaffing on my bottom from riding. At a complete and total loss for why this is happening.

Goal 600 Miles

I’ve been dealing with a saddle sore for over a month now that doesn’t want to get better. Same deal, been riding almost 3 years now and have never experienced a problem.

October was hot and I was out of state a lot but not committing to a specific goal last month hurt me so November's goal is 250 miles

Matt the Hat, I can feel your pain. Rode 21.5miles today and got a pressure sore on my left butt. Back to the recumbent I go. Trying for 250 miles this month if the weather holds.

Did a dry run out to the new workplace today, got a flat tire for added realism. Going to need to find a couple of less-likely-to-get-killed-on sections, but it's flat the whole way, and about 12.5 miles or so. That's 3 miles closer than the old job.

After taking my prescription nsaids for a week that allowed me to continue to ride last month , I could only take them for a week , because of the side effects .
Without the drugs , I realized now how much I’d injured myself in my fall two weeks ago . Both knees are giving me problems , along with my hands and wrists .
I hope to get back to ridding in another week .
it’ll be slow to begin with I’m sure .
November goal is just to get back to riding.

November goal: 125 miles

I wish I could set a higher goal, but I really want to be realistic and set myself up for success, not failure. It is getting colder, my sinuses are already screaming at me and it gets dark so early now. I took off work early today and still only got 8 miles.
( edit: I came back and re-read this and it sounds like I'm whining - so I increased my goal a little for November )

November 3 - 16.0 miles
November 4 - 8.3 miles

November to date: 24.3 miles

2020 to date: 2303.9 miles
2020 goal: 2100 miles - made it

2020 stretch goal: 2400 miles

All my miles are outdoor miles on a 2011 Fuji Absolute 3 (unless otherwise noted)
