My experience of European kitchens which was, admittedly, limited to two in Germany many years ago, is that there is not available storage for lots of processed and packaged foods or even produce because you go to the store every day or every few days to buy what you need fresh. There were also no giant refrigerators because only the people shopping in the PX or commissary were buying gallons of ice cream or milk or boxes of cereal the size of an infant.
I had to rig a step down transformer to get it to work as it was American, thus wired for 110. It was my one indulgence, and my biggest piece of furniture.
The stove/range was one of those bottle gas things you see all over southern Italy and Mexico. Anyone there who had what I have here in the US would immediately open a restaurant.

...the place I rented in Italy had bare walls and a couple of 220 outlets. Nice windows and a view, though. And plumbing with a sink and stuff. I bought a fridge from some officer who was leaving and didn't want to ship it home. One Italian moving guy carried it down four flights of steps in a walk up apartment building using his hands under the bottom frame rail and a band around the box and his forehead.

...there's a pristine Santana tandem in the window of City Bikes here, (blue, shiny, clean as a whistle) with TA cranks and Suntour shifting that is marked $800, but when I asked about it the kid said they were at the "taking offers" stage (the rains have started here.) 58 c-c in front and about 55-56 c-c in back. It;s a darn good thing my garage is full.

This place is huge. I went for a walk and it took me an hour to wind through it all. There are multiple "trim" levels of timeshares here, they share facilities for the most part except you can only use the pools at your trim level or lower. There is a main entertainment complex, several bars and some shows at night. It's called the Santuario.
