New Ride, Needs Name
As I posted a few weeks ago, my custom built, one hand controlled Trek Domane was destroyed in a head on collision with a Dodge Durango. As embarrassing as it might be to admit, the bike had a name, Bandit, which is what my brothers have been calling me for years. I think it's because I occasionally take their money playing golf-they say it's only because of my physical resemblance to a slot machine.
Regardless, the basic control interface from the Bandit is now running on an Emonda SL frame. Gone is the crystal red, matte finish of the original Bandit. In it's place is a matte black with gloss black details, the stock SL frame when you buy it bare. As pictured, with lights, computer, pedals and cages, it weighs in at 15.7 lbs. Strip away the accessories, it's a sub 15 lb. bike. Although you still have to pedal it, this bike climbs and accelerates like nothing I have ever ridden.
At Thanksgiving dinner, my oldest daughter asked whether I had named the new bike yet, and pointed out that it did not have to be a Bandit, which was a year long labor of love by many great folks at Trek, SRAM and Shimano. Once a name is picked, she offered to hand paint it onto the new bike. Hence, I am coming to the wise ones for suggestions.

My '77 Raleigh GP was Gwendolyn (can't get more Brit - Saxon princess in Beckett, though it's a Briton - Welsh - name)
My '74 International is Isolde (equally Brit in spite of the Irish legend)
My '98 Moser is Francesca
My '92 Viner is Vivian.
(hint, your road bike is your lover)
Gwendolyn was is Wallace's girlfriend in Wallace and Gromit.
Bandit was the dog in Johnny Quest.
If you want another dog name, how about Gromit?

Bandit still works.
I've been riding forever and never named my bikes. Until this one. It's a Motobecane Ti bike. I stripped off teh decals and made my own. It's now a Corlieu (the original French spelling of my name) and the model (says me) is Rocinante (Don Quixote's horses name)
We designed the name in Adobe Illustrator and cut it with a digital vinyl cutter.
Good luck with your renaming efforts.

I like to face my previous problems - and try to keep the memory real to avoid any future incidents.

Didn't see earlier post about collision.
Hope all worked out OK (new bike is OUTstanding) and you are getting ongoing PT, as most underestimate the power of long term curative therapy.

Tigat,
I also ride a Domane P1, and although I've never officially named it, I do refer to it as 'centistoke', which is a unit of viscosity (easy on me please, I'm a Chemical Engineer), because the bike glides through the wind.
Let me give some thought to a name. If it's any condolence, I'm recovering from a pelvic fracture while on my Giant. Dog ran away, I got a tow job to the hospital...

Have you determined your new bike's gender? If female, perhaps "Bethany" in honor of Bethany Hamilton; if male, perhaps "Abbott" in honor of Jim Abbott.
I considered The Fugitive, but you're riding it... it's not chasing you.
It's pretty hard to beat "Bandit"; that might just be THE name for your bike.
In any case, Enjoy!

Emonda in french and romanian means "to cut" or "to prune" so you could call it "the Coupe". By the way "Emonda" is an anagram for "Domane" and "Madone" which are other bikes by Trek spelled with the same letters. In this vein it could be named "A Demon", or "Mad One".

Okay, last one. (Apparently I don't have anything better to do; and ironically I have not named my bikes.)
So it is not a name, but a phrase like "Shut Up Legs" which Jens Vogt put on his bicycles.
The setup of your bike reminds me of what is said by jews during the seder every passover. In recounting the Exodus it is written that G-d acted "with a strong hand and an outstretched arm!"
Or in hebrew "בְּיָ֣ד חֲ֭זָקָה וּבִזְר֣וֹעַ נְטוּיָ֑ה" (Right to left) It souns like this, "b'yad khazaka, uvizroa n'tuyah!"

Great reminder of a truly inspiring story--maybe add some spots to the bike and call it good.

The ride across Wisconsin sounds great, though.
"If the one-armed guy only weights 155 pounds, he can go screw himself."
Bwahahahah. Great prose!
