Finally Started Riding
About five years ago, I purchased a Trek Madone 3.1, rode it a few times, and let it sit around. Truthfully, I had the best intentions, but apparently life distracted me.
In March, a friend of mine was recovering from surgery and wanted someone to ride with who wouldn't outrun her. That was about 1,100 miles ago. I had my longest ride this past Sunday - 58 miles. I guess starting to ride seriously at 54 years old is better than never doing it at all.

The best time to plant a tree is 10 years ago. The second best time is today.

The early fifty age range seems to be when life's other things slowed down just enough to let me make time to ride. The health benefits whether real or perceived are wonderful for me.
I envy those that were able to ride seriously from teen to whatever age they currently are.

Finally started to ride at age 23 and haven't stopped. But more concerned now with never stopping cycling.
