Do you hate your winter bike?
Hi there,
I have a winter bike and I ride it for the last 3 winters. Sometimes it has some problem, but I fix and again enjoy my winter riding.
Winter bike mainly using for need not always for fun. In winter cold, snow, ice may have occurred some problem with the bike but we have to accept it.

Probably best if you do. Then you won't fret as much about the slushy salt bath it's going to get.

Yeah. I bought a Civia Highland for winter riding. Once of it's advantages was the carbon fork. It's been recalled 3 times - including the carbon fork which they replaced with a steel fork.
That's annoying, but the reason I kinda hate it is because it's designed for a max tire size of 35c, right after I bought it they came out with the to-big 38c 45nrth Gravdal's. :-/ 3c doesn't sound like much but the current 35c's I have on it are already right next to the fenders, I don't think it could handle a bigger tire.

Lately my winter bike is my trainer bike. I hate riding it (because it hurts!) but it's the most effective training tool I have. My actual winter bike has been pressed into service as a CX race bike. Once I replace it it will return to its fendered winter duties. I don't hate the bike because it means I can go outside when it's bad outside, but it sure isn't my favorite to ride.

I'm saying I normally ride a BIKE all winter. Last year we had a Snowmageddon and it was the first time in the 43 years I've ridden bikes that I couldn't manage it and it was HELL.
My bikes finish hasn't suffered at all, only the spray painted tank and fenders.

I kinda love my winter bike. It's a late 90s all-rigid Trek mtb, but it's a kind of bike I wanted when I was a little kid, so I do not hate it. Also, it's nice to give an old abandoned bike a new lease of life. But it could be more comfortable and it would be great if it rolled easier, but, hey, slow bikes make you faster on faster bikes, so I use it as a motivation.
