Addiction 2021.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've never had good rum. I'm not a huge fan after over-indulging on it in university years ago. so it's fine to waste it with coke. you end up with an alcoholic drink that tastes just ok enough to drink..

Good point, especially since the rougher surface provides more opportunity for attack.

Empty land is where they fought most of the battles. It's generally easier that way.

Precisely, that's all heathens need. Or maybe Royal Crown.

Best rum drink:

Dark and Stormy
  • 2 ounces Gosling's Black Seal Bermuda Black Rum (do not substitute!)
  • 1 ounce Fever Tree ginger beer.
  • Squeeze from 1/4 lime wedge

Nice, though I prefer Bundaberg, and leave the lime for Cuba Libre's and Daquiris - the shaken-in-a-cocktail-shaker kind, not the Sno-Cone sort.

BTW, I read a bit on the original recipe for Cuba Libres. It's about 1:2 or 1:3 rum:Coke, not the usual '1-2 oz rum :12 oz can of Coke'.

At one of our old haunts in Brooklyn, one of their house cocktails was a Mo' Stormy - a mojito/dark and stormy concoction. It was tasty.
