Greetings from NC

Hi - greetings from NC. Looking to add some info the the Nishiki database but need to get my post count up a little bit before I can post hosted images!

My stable includes:

1984 Nishiki Riviera
2015? Scott Genius
2002-ish Klein Q-Pro Carbon
Late 90's Litespeed Owl Hollow
Generic Unicycle

My interests are trending toward Touring bikes and Gravel bikes. Hoping to learn a lot here!

Cheers!

Hey sjt, welcome from over here in Camel City. Interesting to see that you have that Klein. I recently bought that frameset to build up for my son's birthday, after buying my Wilier last summer. This was a first try on my part, took the Ultegra off the Wilier and put it on the Klein, whaddaya know, it works! Then I bought a low-end Campy groupset and put that on the Wilier (had to be all-Italian ), and can you believe it, that works too! Best of luck, hasta la vista.

The Klein I bought new while working in a bike shop north of Chicago. I also have a Klein Pulse Race MTB that I forgot about. Wife doesn't understand why I need so many bikes yet I find myself looking at what else is out there! I'l like to learn more about vintage steel bikes, different grades of steel tubing and vintage components.

The Nishiki I have is Tange 900 tubing - would a higher grade tubing ride better? Or simply be lighter?
