Jersey w zipper on left?

Just bought a new jersey from a name brand American company.

It came with the zipper pull on the left side. I asked about this and they said it is by design - they use a European fit and decided to use the European style zipper.

It was quite awkward for me although I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Wondering if this is common with other manufacturers? I'm new to road cycling and have just a few jerseys that all have right side zipper pulls. (as does every other zippered apparel I've ever owned).

While my other jerseys are loose fit, this is the first jersey with a "race" fit. Not sure if that has something to do with it?

Thanks
Tom

I have an old Sugoi jacket that has the backwards zipper feature. As you say, you get used to it.

I know I have an old one I bought in Spain that has a lefty zipper. Other than that, I don't know because I don't pay attention because I can easily go both ways.

seems to be found on the unisex/female apparel from what I've seen.

Probably about 50/50 on the jerseys I own. After awhile, you sort of forget about it.

European /Unisex/Women's jerseys and jackets reverse the zipper pull. Maybe a third of my jerseys and jackets have the left pull.

Never gave it a thought. Can't see why it would matter. I'll check a few of mine and see which mine are.

Same. I even have jerseys from the same manufacturer (Pearl Izumi) where some have the pull on the left, some on the right.

Yup, seems evenly split between which side the zipper mates. My full zip jerseys and jackets from Pearl Izumi, Garneau, Shimano and others have both zipper types. Only time I notice is when hanging them or removing them from hangers. When I'm wearing 'em I don't even notice.

I suppose now that Texas allows open carry of swords I should rethink my jersey and bike sword strategy to be sure I'm prepared next time a dragon swoops down. I suppose since I'm right handed I should go with left handed zippers for left side carry. But for my elvish dagger I suppose a right hand carry would work best in orc territory.

So many decisions. Bike riding is hard.

It's always been on the left, here. But a couple of years ago i bought a Nike sweater cardigan thing. Like a hoodie without a hood. The zipper is on the right. It's not a women's one. I still have it, and rarely wear it, as trying to zip it up with the pull on the right is just downright weird. Must be a U.S spec one, then..?

I have an Aerotech jacket with a “backwards” zipper and I dislike it. I have 4 of their jerseys and they’re all on the right side.
