Only fire was on my camp stove. The rest of the campsite was filled with Boy Scouts on a canoe trip. They made a bonfire. I was worn out by a hundred mile drive from Bradford, PA, hiking at overlooks in the Allegheny National Forest, and packing and unpacking the car. Here I am the next morning, after the canoe kids left:

History buffs might find it curious that the canal and towpath became a National Park on President Nixon's signature in 1971. That included the canal's "water gate" at Milepost Zero. A nearby hotel had taken the name "Watergate" from the canal.....

Laurel Lake, Pine Grove Furnace State Park, PA. The Appalachian Trail runs through the park a little distance away, and uses the bike path just past the lake. Fans of Bill Bryson's Into The Woods might recall the author's attempt to hike in the park and turning around when something scared him. Bryson might have passed the spot my bike is resting on.

A single wheel trailer doesn't affect handling that much. It's added weight, but it tracks behind the bike. Only problems are on steep downhills the trailer might try to "take over", and the turning radius is much wider.

Oldies but goodies - here's a ride I did in June of 2010, immediately after getting a roof rack for my car. I traded this bike in toward a used, alu road bike last fall, to use as a commuter, after the cross bike tried to kill me a few times.
Keechelus Lake, just east of Snoqualmie Pass on I-90.
There's no bike in this one, but I still like it.
