It's also worth noting that USAC doesn't support all athletes at the same level. Men tend to get more funding for attending WC events than women, at least at the junior level.

The CDN team sprint team is composed of Hugo Barrette, Joel Archambault and Patrice St-Louis Pivin. Hugo should have enough point to participate in World Cups but Joel and Patrice iirc don't have enough. AFAIK both Patrice and Joel are racing this winter in European events to gather enough UCI points for WC.

aka mattio
it's fkn crazy. he was a sprinter in Rio 2016 and now he's doing seriously solid as an enduro - world cup podiums in the omnium and the points race IIRC! he's always been a bit of a hybrid but it looks like he's making a concerted change. seriously impressive.

MY girlfriend is getting annoyed because everyone time he's on camera I comment on it.
"He's so big!"
"What the **** is that huge Greek doing!?"
"Hey, did you know that Volikakis dude was a serious Keiring/Sprint guy before this?!"
I'm impressed, to be honest.

That's right!
Well...I have no idea how that's supposed to work.

Watched the Canadian women's pursuit final and noticed they all seemed to have quite wide elbows and hands a la hammer's position. Also had quite odd looking aero bars too

Yeah 3 out of the 4 were riding a very wide arm position. This photo's not from last night but it's the same team:
I'm friends with one of them, I'll ask her about it the next time I see her.

One of the French riders ran a 62x14 in the men's TS final.

Not sure. I never saw the event. This was taken from friend's Crackbook post. My guess, maybe it was Pervis as anchor. Blunt the start, roll behind Man 2, and maybe mash to the line.
This is something that I think maybe Ryan Bayley from Australia missed out on. He was the kind of rider who could roll a large gear and just keep going faster and faster. A diesel(ish) type sprinter who in my opinion was forced to ride the gears of those around him to keep up with any accelerations.

My guess is that this is the starter's bike since it seems like man 2 and 3 are always on double discs at these events. Amazing.

One of Japan's Women TP riders was running a single strap. Maybe the Enduros are going to start coming around?
