keep it moving as much as possible. If it's new, then ice it for a bit, and then just keep it moving afterward. Go spin as often as you can. If you keep it loose it won't be bad by next week.

Home from my rest week wine tasting and buying in California. 4.5 cases of wine are in transit. They make some damn fine Pinot in Russian River and Anderson Valley.

Man, I think I actually like her. Just got home. There will be future dates.
Also, the Droid X updates for DST, as does my cable box and my laptop. My car analog clock, my car radio, my oven, my microwave, and all other clocks in the house, do not.
Just in case anyone needed to know.

Well EPCOT. I'm waiting on the wife to finish getting dressed.
I heard they've added some new countries to the world showcase. Libya with the full rebel assault sounds exciting!

I think you'll like the Riot Police Pain in Bahrain and Lotsa Yellin' in Yemen showcases as well.

I had a severe bruise on the inside of my knee from the motorcycle and after several weeks there was still a lump the size of a chicken egg. I used a hydrocolater (?) on it and the swelling went away in a couple days.

New teammate did his first race at Perry. Said he had a hard time not staying at the front. He said he would get back to third wheel and jump on every break attempt. Said he got blocked on the last turn and finished mid pack. Pretty good for a middle aged dude.

I had an interesting situation today in which I decided to crash voluntarily instead of swerving wildly and risking alot.
So today on the last lap of a cat 4 crit there was a crash (Big surprise I know). My mind was clear and relaxed and I had 2-3 seconds to make a decision: 1) Pulse the breaks and slow down as much as possible preparing for a light crash, or 2) Swerve wildly and try to avoid it.
I chose 1).
My rationale:
1) I knew that if I slowed down alot I would simply just hit the curb with my front wheel (at ~15 mph), fly over the bars and probably roll out of the crash with nothing more than scraped elbows and a wobbly front wheel (wheel was fine), or
2) If I swerved to try to stay upright I risked slamming into another rider and worsening the crash. In addition, if I crashed with a hard lean like that and momentum in a direction other than forward, I risked breaking my collarbone or worse. I'm sure that if I crashed during option 2) that I risked much greater harm to other riders and/or my self.
I'm pretty happy with my decision; I walked out of it with nothing more than a couple scrapes and a bruised elbow. Riding/training will commence as if nothing happened.

I hope you didn't actually fly over the bars. I mean, would it be possible to slide out to a stop? Then again, i'm reminded of the amazing stop that Oscarito pulled at the Tour of Swiss and wonder what would happen if i crash while trying that. With arms fully extended, i'd think if i crash in that position, i'm bound to break someting

Sliding in that situation would have involved hitting other downed riders/bikes. In addition, I am actually pretty comfortable flying over the handlebars, provided that I have enough time to anticipate it happening and to slow down a little. I grew up as a kid crashing my BMX bike on dirt jumps and I wrestled in high school; I'm used to getting tossed around
In retrospect, it was more of an intuition than a thought out decision (given the short time frame). I considering swerving for a split second and the thought scared me because I realized how dangerous it would have been.

umm, interesting. Last time i went over my handlebars, i ended up loosing 5 teeth. Granted, it was at 30+mph, but the thought of going over just frightens me. Same goes with breaking limbs as i need them to stand and do experiments...

Ya I would probably be a little more reluctant to crash in that manner if I had experienced this.
