You need to reapply when it rains unless you mix a little dish soap and water together in a spray bottle, spray that on, let it sit for a minute, then sprinkle Cayenne on. But it'll wash off after one or two light rains, reapplication is necessary. It's a hassle and some of them still don't care, they'll eat your stuff anyway.

It's frankly a waste of the spice, since it doesn't stay put. Capsaicin can be infused into a carrier oil and sprayed after blending with a surfactant and water. It's OK for rodents, but deer have to eat it (not great) to be affected. I've heard good things about dried blood stations, which apparently alert the deer about a predator nearby and cause them to flee the area.

Ideally, you can deerproof your landscaping by planting plants deer don't necessarily find tasty.

If you find a 26.4, these aren't too difficult to take down 0.1mm all the way around with 80 grit. Once you get close, switch to 600 grit, or you'll remove too much!

It only works if you ingest copious amounts and then pee on your plants. We await your report.

Good tip--thanks! I'll keep an eye out for a 26.4 as well then.

Well folks,
Today the Karma thing bit me again! I sent the two head bike stand to Mountain Dave and took a nail gun back to the hair dressers shop that I repaired when he jammed nails in the mechanism. He had a frame abandoned in the lot next to the shop, and this mutt followed me home. Can I keep it?

Looking for either an entire cannondale DT boss setup or just the little piece thats broken on this one. Basically the two middle ones should look the same but one is missing the tabs.

did somebody answer this need already?
If not, I can mail you one: you choose either unbranded (decent chrome) or Shimano (looks like new)
neither has the nut/bolt, you supply your own.
PM me

Oh NVM, I see Skip M. did already, so..."skip" it!

I’m looking for a Suntour Cyclone MKII cable clamp nut. I’d take an entire derailleur in any condition or cage configuration as long as that nut is intact.

Really? Bikes sans wheels are a blessing to me. Less buying competition, and one less pair of wheels hanging around! Almost every bike I have, has it's "proper" (read lightweight go fast, usually tubular) wheels, and a set for daily riding, many of those still tubular... And then there are the special wheels, a disk here, a set of Hi-e wheels that are too cool to pass on. Then there are some left over random wheels, from otherwise donor bikes!!!
Shipping costs and the whole getting the box and packing them safely thing, make selling wheels less attractive than say an RD.

Cool find MH. quite a mixed breed indeed. Nice one!

Yesterday I gave the Mutt a shave to be sure the fleas were all gone. The seat post was stuck so I gave it some acetone-ATF to drink. It needed to be house broken so the three foot persuader was used to discipline the the seat post and the thing went outside to leave his drink. I think it is house broken now. New Pics after the shave:

I think the gouges and rust will need to be dealt with. Pro Kote Indy will do all of that for me. It is an '88 so it qualifies for 50th anniversary decal set. I'm thinking a nice metallic baby blue finish. The loose parts on this dog will go up later today as ISO a new home. Smiles, MH

I need a 27.0 seat post, anything will do, just clearing frames out of the garage.

26 for 25.4?

These handlebars were listed as 25.4, but the clamp measures 25.9 .

Clamp diameter

About 80mm reach with typical 140mm drop. Slightly ergonomic bend.

43cm c-c wide. Some tape residue, and marring around the clamp.

I'm looking to trade these for a bar similar to the Nitto B135 randonneur style bar at least. If you have a shallow drop bar with a mid to short reach like a Nitto RM3, that's strongly preferred! I can make up a value difference with green, if needed.

Hi all, I'm out of BikeForums retirement in search of a bit of a grail crankset, so it seems.

I'm looking for a set of Sugino AT crank arms (or a whole crankset) in 165mm. Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

OK
C&V folks,
Most of the Mutt parts have been re-distributed. The only thing left are the pedals, tri-color derailleur, and the bars. Anyone wanting them PM me, otherwise off to the bike project with them.

Now DRietz I need a bit more info... I can make this one into an AT with a magic marker and few minutes. However if you modify the search terms a bit, this one is available:

It is a triple I got for someone here who said they didn't want it after all. It comes with 52, 40, 28 rings but will need bolts. If interested PM me. Smiles, MH

Ok so it also looks like I need a 25.4mm seatppst and two simplex jockey wheels for this Gitane tandem. And a miracle piece for the atom hub brake so I don’t have to kludge one.

My parts bin is low, road handlebars and wheels and brifters of variable functionality mostly.
