Riding near Carmel

Looking at Google Maps I see a road titled Carmel Valley Road that connects Carmel to Greenfield which is south of Soledad. Anyone have any knowledge of that road? Looks like an interesting ride route as long as it’s safe?

Is is commonly ridden, yes, but it gets hot, and water can be scarce between Greenfield and Carmel Valley, so bring enough.
