Texas Fall Events - Fifty 50+ Riders - Plus 50+ Jerseys - Where are they??
Hello everyone,
I'm looking at doing these texas events in the fall:
Sept 15 - Fort Davis Cyclefest - 36th year for this event in the west texas mountains - It is a long, long drive for me and my first "mountain event...so we'll see 75 miles
Sept 22 - Corpus Chrsiti Conquer the Coast - this was my first real event ever on a road bike in 2011. This one should have about 1,500 riders - will do the longer 65 mile route, a lot of fun last year
Nov 3rd - Tour de Gruene - If I do and survive Fort Davis this should be "easy"
Oct 13-14 - Bike Around the Bay - Galveston - looks fun for a two day ride of 180 miles - never done it but looks like a big event
Anyway, those are my tenative plans so far outside of deep south Texas events. Any other 50+ riders going to be at any of these events? If so, send me a PM.
Other events in TX, please suggest. Want to do another brevet or randonneur this fall since it looks like the south TX ones are not going to happen this fall. Might venture to Houston to do at least a 200K.
Need links I'll post.
And, where the heck do we order 50 plus jerseys, I feel left out!!
Thanks,
Richard

Richard,
The 50+ jersey orders are done by cccorlew, he designed them and set up the deal with the vendor for the kit. He is really tied up this summer and school is starting back, professors will be busy for a few weeks. When he is ready there will be a post about it with ordering instructions, a list of the kit items available and their sizes/prices. he gets all the orders together sends them off and handles the mailing to us. Probably will be in the mid-fall. Hope this helps.

Guess I'll post a message when the events get closer to see if anyone 50+ is attending.
