@Lascauxcaveman- I meant that a guy who appreciates vintage bikes might appreciate a woman who likes them as well.
I consider myself "Classic", but not "Vintage".

The Drive Side is Within
You beat me to it!
My gal took me and my broken arm out on one of our tandems. I was depressed about not being able to ride, so she put me in the stoker spot!
Even better, I have vintage bike kids who are into it. Jimmy (12) loves his flatbar converted Reynolds 531 Trek 600, and Charlie (10) his minty purple Fuji rigid TrueTemper MTB. Lately, the copies of "bicycling" magazine around the house have been showing up on their nightstands.

Very true, there's nothing like an understanding and supportive spouse/partner. My wife has attended about 98% of my races, competed in club races (still coming out to time/score when she was pregnant) and even took some coaching courses with me. She often encourages me to make bicycle related purchases on which I'm undecided and has even been known to go back and buy something for me, that I passed on. High school cyclists that I coached got care packages from her when they went off to university. She's supportive, almost to a fault.

Quite a few of my framesets arrived as complete bikes but without the original components. My '73 Holdsworth is a case in point (https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...fessional.html). The only original component was the Campagnolo headset. It took about a year to find period-correct components and a lot of fun it was too.

Another +1, getting a frame set and planning the build stimulates the juices every time.

Old guy on a Bike
...getting that ding in your in-box from eBay letting you know that the part you've been lusting after and bidding on is finally yours.
