Biggest bike injury of the year.
Actually decade really.
I was taking the roof rack off the car to fiddle with it. Just needed a little maintenance. It wouldn't budge and I couldn't tap the U bolt up front free (without running to the garage and getting a proper tools).
So I gave it hard yank. That worked quite well. It came loose and right into my face.
Black eye, blood blister under the eye and a big gash on my eyebrow. Deep enough that if I went in, they'd stitch it. Should be nice and colorful when I go to work later this week.

My latest dumb injury -- putting on my helmet, my right hand took a detour and I jabbed my thumbnail into my forehead, scraping it bloody. And a couple of times this year I'd jabbed myself in the eye while doing stuff like brushing my teeth or hair.
Turns out that was a useful warning sign. I'd been having problems with dexterity and strength in my right hand for awhile -- lots of little stuff like dropping things I had a firm grasp on, signatures ranging from calligraphic to indecipherable scrawls, being unable to lift stuff I can normally lift easily. Meanwhile the left side was fine.
Ortho doc and chiropractor just told me my old and new neck injuries are impinging on the nerves and causes all kinds of grief, including causing BP and HR spikes. So, back to PT and chiropractor.
That's almost a relief. For a few days I wondered whether it was the early warning signs of Parkinson's, which got my mom and one uncle. And that may eventually happen too. But for now it's just nerve impingement issues affecting one hand/arm.
