Best Recovery Drink
I heard pickle juice has magical properties, so....
1 part pickle juice, 4 parts vodka, and a couple drops of vermouth

For a serious recovery drink within the first 40 to 60 minutes after a ride, I think it actually gives you reasonable amounts of what you need. And comparing carbs and protein to other drinks touted as recovery drinks it is in the ballpark.
I used to think that putting milk in my stomach after a ride would turn it inside out and be all over the ground or person in front of me. At the finish line of an organized ride quite a few years ago, one of the sponsors gave out a half pint cold bottle of it. I tried it and had none of the troubles I imagined it would give me.
I don't drink milk or use any dairy product regularly though. I've always had crappy sinuses and leaving out the dairy in my diet seems to keep me breathing easier through them. I'm not to the point of bringing out silver crosses and garlic if offered some though. <grin>

Damn you people and your chocolate milk.
Now I'm hooked on the stuff. And it's gotta be Fairlife extra protein or Braum's A2.
Bastards. I'm down to a pint and I don't think I'll make it through the day.

Imo, First Endurance Ultragen is the bomb! I always try to drink within 30 minutes of my ride and feel almost like new within the hour and will be ready to ride again the next day...
