As someone with the upper body strength of a malnourished gerbil, I am impressed with anyone who can do more than very few pull-ups.

Good ride today. We did get buzzed by a passing light truck, which made me yell at the top of my lungs, FOUR FEET, *******! The French shower had plenty of room but came damn near close to hitting us.
Other than that, it was a fantastic fun fall ride.
What starts with “f” and means ride?

Group rides during COVID no matter how well you think you know your riding partners is a risky endeavor. I do not ride in groups but didn't pre COVID either. Sermon over.

When I was a wee lad, we moved to a house on a lot maybe 100 feet wide, so we had 100 feet of sidewalk to shovel when it snowed. Dad insisted that it be shoveled the full width of the walk, not just a shovel's width path. Then there was the driveway, and the turnaround, and the walk from the garage to the house. I'm the youngest of 6 kids, so there was always someone to shovel snow, till I went off to college.
THEN, and only then, Dad got a snow blower.

Then that seemed like a lot, till I moved to Ithaca.
Then that seemed like a lot till I visited Syracuse in January and saw Lake Effect snow for the first time.
Then that seemed like a lot till I went skiiing at Lake Tahoe.

Black spokes? I don't generally like them, but they could be the only option, unless I stick with the used ones.
In Covid news, an acquaintance of the wife went to the hospital yesterday. An obese diabetic woman in her sixties. She is regularly observed at buffets, eating like she doesn't have diabetes. We are all telling ourselves there is reason to hope.

Fingers for the woman. We seem to be hearing a lot about that.

IMO, black rims look fantastic with black spokes. But they also look good with silver spokes if you've got silver hubs. OTOH, black hubs and black rims with silver spokes....not so much. Black spokes and silver rims? Ew.

I'd love to take a gravel/CX bike on some of the dirt roads back in PA where I grew up. Especially this time of year with the slight chill in the air and the fall colors....

Thoughts on cycling in the fog? Didn’t start off foggy this morning but at about the 12 mile mark it got really dense. Visibility was lower than what I can land my plane in. I’ve been so concerned about temperature I never looked at the forecast for fog.

It’s 70 degrees out... I didn’t have time to ride this AM when winds were blowing 2mph because I had an appointment with my personal trainer. Going out once I wrap up my work day, winds are now blowing 15 with gusts to 22, gonna be a party!
