Ironman freewheel recommendation
Can someone recommend a new 6 speed freewheel for my 1987 Ironman expert?
I see several different ones on Amazon from both Shimano and Sunrace. Will any freewheel fit?

They will both fit. If you're still running the 105 rear derailleur, I wouldn't go bigger than 28 which is what is on my wife's 87.

Death fork? Naaaah!!
If you upgrade your shifters to 7 the options become more attractive.

Well, since you're in the glacially-scoured flatlands of the southern Great Lakes like I am (Lorain County just west of the Cleveland area)... I personally don't need much beyond a 21t or 24t big sprocket. With a freewheel, that means a 13t as the smallest cog. I'd be looking for a 13-21, 13-24, or 13-26. My road-ridden bikes are all in that range, although I'm rarely using anything larger than a 17t since I ride on the inner- or middle chainring ( 38-42t ) Even though I'm inn my early 60s, I easily maintain a ~19-20mph riding speed on my 23- to 26-pound steel roadbikes (although they are more like ~30 pounds with full water bottle and toolkit, and the Fuji has a rear rack for my work clothes) on my 12.5-mile ride to work in Ohio's all-too-short commuting season. I will slow down to ~16mph for longer distances - for rides of 50 miles or more...

I will also say that I'm a SunTour loyalist, so all of my road bikes have Winner Ultra-spaced 6-speeds. I DO have a 'new take-off' Shimano 14-28 TZ20 that came on one of my purchases that you are welcome to for the price of the ride...
