My weight loss stuff should be filed under the training failure thread. Ugh. I don't know how I did it last year.

Thanks to cycling I go outdoors, meet lots of people, make friends, and count out my breakfast of raw almonds one at a time. Yay!

my wife "bulked" up over the holidays. we are now both suffering together, but i think she is disgusted by my want and desire to suffer. she too does not understand the power to weight ratio thingy. later.

Question - Is it worth it to get a body fat percentage scale or should I get a regular scale and just track weight? I know BF scales aren't accurate, but are they precise enough to be worth a few extra bucks? Edit: also any recommendations for the scale to get or avoid?

Regarding my weight loss status - I'm down 3 - 4 lbs since a week before Thanksgiving. Great progress since the holidays, but still about 7 lbs above my race weight of a couple years ago.

thanks,
cmh

I think the BF scales aren't necessarily accurate, but they are consistent if you take your measurements at the same time everyday. Hydration has a lot to do with it, and a few other factors. Either that deal with the inaccuracy, or have your SO learn the 7-site caliper test.

Christmas followed by vacation definitely didn't help in the "weight loss" category. I'm hoping between this week and a training camp in tucson at some point will help to reverse that.

Me too, The holidays and crashing did not bode well for my weight. I did maintain the past couple of weeks. I only need to loose 10lbs and I am sure I can do that by April 1. I've been real strict since Jan 2nd and I am back on the bike so I should start to see the weight go down.

I was fantasizing about food for the last 30 minutes of my ride so I went to In and Out and got a Double-Double and fries. It was everything I hoped and dreamed it would be.

The fries sounded better. I think I was really craving the salt.

I'm going to have a hot dog for lunch.

The local hot dog shop is closing, I want to say goodbye to the owner. He's a good guy.

In n Out is delicious, thankfully there aren't any near me. My co-worker asked if I wanted to go to elevation burger for lunch, I told him to F off cause I'm on a diet.
