I didn't see this until just now. This is part of the "leaving the computer elsewhere during the day" side effect.
I need to be in a D group.

The D's start with the C's and are scored separately. That Richmond course is a *****. I wound up finishing in the top ten, I think sixth. Two guys got away the first time up the big climb, while I led a chase group of six. We lost a few and gained some B's that fell off the back. On the last lap two guys attacked. I caught one on the big hill and the other got away. He attacked me twice but the third time he put 15 seconds on me and that was that. I learned a lot about virtual drafting. It's tricky.

Zwift attempts to reproduce drafting virtually by reducing power to the trainer once you get into the drafting zone (close the gap-ok). Your speed is calculated by ewang, but activity lags input, at least with my computer. There's no virtual brake, at least nothing that I have found. Combine these things and it's different than riding the road in a pack, where subtle actions have predictable outcomes. It's just takes getting used to.

not sure what you mean. everyone is hyper serious here.
it would seem that with BF, facebook, PM, text, skype one might find another way to connect instead of randomly running into one another on a virtual training ride, which is what that series of posts seemed like.

We have. If everyone is hyper serious here I don't want to cause you any grief.

Seems like there were a lot of shelled riders on the Richmond course last night. I kept picking up B and C riders who were pedaling virtual squares. They'd link up for a while, and then fade away. The back side of the course was just killing them.

It's a brutal course. It actually reminds me a lot of our Tour of the Hilltowns old course, with the stepped steep climb in the middle and the long slog to the finish. I did the PST version due to time constraints.

Some of you may have noticed that there will be weeklyl Tour of the Battenkill zwift rides this winter. It's looking like I'll be the one "leading" these group rides most of the time. Seeing as I've never used Zwift before this will be interesting.

out walking the earth
haha
no it was a
'hey lets meet up and ride'
'ok I'm doing the 9:00 ride'
'see you there!'
"hey I missed you!!"
"I was in the break!"
etc.
except it's virtual.
