Ultegra 6700 groupset
FSA Gossamer crank
Cinelli XA Stem
Cinelli Giro D'Italia bars
Fizik microtex tape
Thomson elite seatpost
Specialized Toupe saddle
Hope hoops RS Mono Wheels

That's a lovely bike. This is my first post by the way as I strive to reach 10 wherein i can post pictures of my recently built Gazelle Champion Mondial (dura ace 7800)! I got super inspiration from this thread.

^^^I briefly dreamt of building a 1x10 setup on my own Centurion, but changed my mind when I happened into a 7400 Dura Ace set of derailleurs. Either you don't have a ton of hills where you live or you're a total beast - that cassette looks pretty compact.

A dirty Atala (with components just put on, I had to take it out for a spin).
'87 Atala, replaced the Victory and Miche drivetrain/brakes with:
Veloce 10-speed shifters/levers/front&rear mech/cassette/chain
Scirocco 35 wheelset
Daytona crankset
Skeleton dual pivot brakes (unbadged)
Still need to decide on pedals. Also, need to replace the hipsterdoodle white tires.

Thanks!
I gotta say (again) how impressed I am with the Campy Veloce groupset. It is so buttery. I have Ultegra on my gravel bike, and while I like it, it feels cheap in comparison--it's not ****e, just slightly lesser (though possible I don't have the mechs dialed in).

I can't say I like modern Shimano or modern Campagnolo better, at least not yet. I can say they're both pretty darned good. I have Veloce on one of my bikes, and it's sure and solid.

Red Treks are always awesome, and I hink True Temper is an underrated material.
I have a similar era Schwinn True Temper, and it's great.

My wife has Veloce on her bike and I have one with Veloce and one with 11 speed Athena (and one with 8 speed Chorus). It may sound like heresy, but I think I like the Veloce best - less fiddly than Athena, lighter touch than the twenty-year-old Chorus, but I do miss the trim on the front derailleur.

A lot is personal preference. I definitely prefer Campagnolo shifters. But I appreciate the friendlier gearing on my gravel bike.

1988 Schwinn Circuit. Got this as a frameset (with Sante headset). Built it up last year with 2300 group I had from my first road bike:
[IMG][/IMG]
Just finished the re-build/upgrade to 3x10. Shimano Ulterga RD, 105 cranks, shifters and FD.
sante brakeset and period-ish Dura-Ace hubs laced to mavic. Random stem, handelbars and seat post that I had (I think from '91 LeTour).

Beautiful Schwinn circuit! I have a frameset I have been meaning to get working on, but it's nowhere near as clean as yours. Once I am done with my current project, your bike has given me motivation to get mine done too!
Thanks for sharing.

(Please excuse the Campag skewers and Shimano pedals/seatpost/outer cables/cable stops.)

Also, when did this forum become the Paceline with the SRAM bashing? SRAM is making product with comparable quality to Shimano and Campagnolo. It's just preference.

Jesus Christ, I posted that light heartedly two weeks ago and now I'm getting called on it.
Look, I don't have a freaking clue what the op meant, I'm not a mind reader. In the context of what was asked by the poster I replied to, I thought I was safe to assume. Sue me.
I really don't care what people ride, just made a comment at SRAM's expense.
I think you're overreacting just a bit.

Here's an STI (which means top level Subaru Impreza to me as a car guy) and Ergo equipped pair for you all to enjoy. And with these two, the pictures don't do them justice when seen in real life, though I have a feeling many of our steeds qualify.
Up first is my once surface-rusty all-chrome 1977 Schwinn Super Le Tour 12.2 (now 11.2 with pedals!). $40 at the LBS in rough, mostly-original shape, and she was mine, ready for a ton of work to be done. 16+ man hours later of cleaning, polishing, and film/glaze-removing plus a new set of decals and we were well on our way to redemption. Receiving nearly every part from my super ultra light Trek Emonda ALR build (save for bigger tires and newer STIs), this is a very good bike. Comfortable, stable, and rapid, riding a smooth wave of acceleration. For the griping that many have done for the 5700/6700/7900 10s era, I have found these 7900 Dura Ace shifters to be markedly better across the board than my 7800 shifters. Fit, comfort, brake feel, brake performance, shift feel, all of it. 7800 DA for the FD, RD, cranks, BB. Tektro R539 nutted standard reach brakes. The bike gets looks and I love the chrome!
Also: HT/ST angles are as measured: 74.1°/74.3°
Second up is my "oh I forgot about how nice this is (and how much I miss looking at it easily)" 1985 Cannondale SR500. The blue is either this radiant in the light or a good bit deeper in calmer scenarios. Regardless, the metallic paint is amazing and with a Brooks saddle, the ride is very comfortable. Great out of the saddle, too. I rebuilt the "full-feature" Veloce 10s Ergos and re-hooded them. Feel good and work smoothly. Racing T FD, Veloce RD, Comp Triple crankset, Centaur brakes [have I scored a Bingo yet???]. Built up and tuned on the stand. Didn't need any adjustment on the test ride or after. Get Veloce, folks, it's just fine! [Uhhh, but, RoS, your wheelset is polished Record....]
