The neighbor a block over had this sitting along side his house and offered $10 when finally asked him about its future he said sold{ It is in almost new condition 1986-10 on the TWC-111 3 speed SA coaster brake hub. The front hub says Phillips TIt has pedals made in Germany Mesinger seat says USA-? The sticker on the headset-? There is a general lack of decals and the paint is real close to perfect. I don't suspect repaint. Every indication points toward a Phillips as the chainguard says. Nothing too special here but Someone will enjoy it Attachment 576543

It's because they just spent half that on the saddle, and saw "Campagnolo" stamped on all the bits. High price but maybe not totally outrageous.

Understandable. I was kind of expecting it; however, I have only been dwelling on the C&V forums for about 3 months and know only so much about the actual value of certain bikes. Especially in such a variable type of market as C&V bikes (Reason for the question mark at the end of my statement)

Be sure to post about this in the For the love of English 3 speeds... thread. Nice find!

I'm glad someone inquired about it. I'm not really interested but would have been tempted had it not had the expensive seat and been priced much lower. Hope someone gets it who really wants it.

Depends on what you're looking for... a 531 frame, Velo Orange saddle, Campy components is probably worth $250 if you wanted a vintage ride and if you don't have to do too much restoration work to it. Replace the cables and hoods and ride it.

If you're looking for a screaming deal or something to part out I'd keep looking.

A lovely Davidson from the first 5 years of production. Big ring looks like a replacement, but almost everything else seems to be pre-CPSC NR. Note the curvature on the brake levers.

At $750 this looks like a nice deal, and I'm sure savvy buyers could talk him down a miniumum of $50.

"Cosmetic wear" is not what I expected. I'm a bit troubled by "First come. First severed." to be honest.

Been watching this for a while. Couldn't decide whether to buy or to post. Decided to post.

Beautiful bike and historic early shifting system. Crank_addict has an even earlier version. I'd probably lose some fingers if I tried shifting with it.

bianchi specialissima vintage road bike frame 1960s campagnolo

What do you guys think of this frame? Looks like a very reasonable price for a nice older frame, even though it's not the "right" color.

Ive gotten into contact with this owner and I think I could get him down to 140. I read that these motobecane mixte may not be worth that much though?.

Anyone have any insight into whether or not this bikes is worth 140? (Had to break up the link because I don't have the necessary amount of posts)

Here's a link to save anyone effort.

https://hartford.craigslist.org/bik/...269760150.html

Value is in the eye of the beholder. You could probably get $140 back out of it. If it's ready to ride with no maintenance required, I think $140 is fair. But if you're looking for something to flip and double or even get a 20-30% profit, this isn't the bike.

It's certainly not worth the ad's asking price.

Looks like a mid-70s Super Mirage mixte, kind of mid-range. Very clean looking frame for a 40 year old bike. Except for the ripped seat, and maybe the tires, everything looks probably original. $140 wouldn't be a bad deal if you want this bike as a personal ride, especially if you're specifically looking for a mixte frame and especially if it's your size. If you're local to Hartford, getting the bike locally also saves you the time and expense of driving somewhere else.

If you're flexible on the type of frame and time-frame to get a bike, you might possibly do better, but it might be with rougher looking paint on the frame and require a long drive to get.

A bird in the hand may be the way to go.

Be advised the claim of leather bar wrap is wrong. That's rubber.
