Car is officially sold

Just me and my fixie now.

And my college issued bus pass, but where's the fun in that?

Just wanted to drop in and say to anybody holding reservations on going car free...

DO IT! It's so easy. I didn't think I could bike to school because it took me 30 minutes by car and there are massive hills.

But I went out and just DID IT, and it was a whole lot easier than I thought it would be. I'm gonna smile at all the gas stations this summer.

Welcome to the club. I sold my car in 2003 with no intentions on buying a bike. I bought my 1st bike in 2007. Within those 4 years I carpooled to work and bummed rides from friends & family. Now I depend on my trusty 'cross bike.

It truly amazes me sometimes how well we can get along on the kindness of others.

Maybe not much fun, but a great backup plan for those winter morning when you just don't feel liking cycling.

Hope it works out for you.

Congratulations! But have a plan B (bus pass, walking route, etc.) Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate, or you're not feeling well, or whatever. The bike is a wonderful, versatile machine, but it does have a few limitations...

I love riding with my bike on buses and rapid transit! Bikes fill the gap where bus routes do not cover, and its a nice bonus if you live next to a route you can use when its raining. Way to go with being carfree! Dont be timid when biking in the street (ie hugging the curb), car drivers take that as a signal that you dont belong there and will scrape by.

Do the buses there have bike racks?
